Early Spring, fruit trees start to activate their growing branches, getting ready for the growing year.  Before flowering is the BEST time to prune fruit trees and fortunately for us, it is also the best time to chip up those young branches to make natural dyes.  I do not use any sprays in my Virginia orchard, so use my natural bark dyes with confidence and a happy heart.
